Some recent examples include increased reporting requirements for PACs, candidates, and independent spenders (amendments to the Campaign Finance Reporting Act); updates to lobbyist reporting and activities (including revolving door restrictions); and increased public access to this information.
Legislation and efforts included in this pillar address ethics reform and increase, as well as balance, citizen access/participation in the legislative process. Some recent examples include the creation of an ethics commission, online streaming of legislative
committees and floor sessions, and public financing to encourage more participation in elections.
